Partner Search for Horizon Europe Call HORIZON CL5- 2026-11-D3-23 on AI Driven Data Sharing for the Energy Sector A company specializing in big data management and analysis, with a growing interest in AI-based applications for monitoring and optimizing energy networks, is approaching these applications with a strong focus on benchmarking innovative solutions. The company has proprietary software and a vast amount of data; it is seeking partners to expand a Common European Energy Data Space into a solution that enables transnational data integration for training and testing as part of the system lifecycle. This solution must guarantee robust privacy and security measures to achieve a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 7-8, as requested in the call for proposals, while maintaining data privacy and security throughout established supply chains and during the lifecycle of the resulting application. We are also seeking other international users with large amounts of data to provide a valid basis for validating this approach.

Project Vision & Objectives As climate change accelerates, European urban centers face an unprecedented convergence of risks. A severe meteorological event (climate/environment) can cause localized grid collapses (infrastructure security), which immediately triggers a cascading public health crisis (civil security) among vulnerable populations. URBAN-SHIELD DT will develop a high-resolution, fast-response Urban Digital Twin component specifically designed to model these cascading effects. Acting as a major new local/regional component integrating with the Destination Earth (DestinE) ecosystem, URBAN-SHIELD DT will empower non-technical decision-makers (mayors, civil protection agencies, emergency responders) with Generative AI-driven foresight, 3D visualization, and robust predictive modeling across short-term (operational), medium-term (tactical), and long-term (strategic) scenarios.

SUMMARY High-energy physics and photon Research Infrastructures (RIs), such as particle accelerators, synchrotrons, and free-electron lasers, are central to European scientific excellence. However, they are highly complex and notoriously energy-intensive, requiring thousands of perfectly synchronized components. GreenBeam-AI addresses the critical need for "greening and resilience" by pioneering the next generation of real-time, AI-informed Digital Twins (DTs) coupled with advanced Edge-Computing sensor networks. By transitioning RIs from manual/static beam tuning to autonomous, dynamic optimization, GreenBeam-AI will drastically reduce energy consumption, minimize thermal stress on critical components, and prevent costly beamtime losses, thereby advancing the state-of-the-art in RI digitalisation. The overarching ambition of GreenBeam-AI is to transform the operation of European high-energy RIs through intelligent digitalisation, making them more resilient, sustainable, and scientifically competitive.
